Description of the wine
- The 2017 vintage was voted Best Red Wine in the World with 97 points at the International Wine Challenge 2019
- Recognized by many critics around the world, Gérard Bertrand reveals Château l'Hospitalet Grand Vin rouge as one of the spearheads of French viticulture.
- Since the 2017 vintage , the estate has been AB ( organic wine ) and DEMETER (biodynamic agriculture) certified.
- As part of a presidential trip to China in November 2019, Château l'Hospitalet was chosen to represent the excellence of French wines alongside Cheval Blanc and Corton Charlemagne.
- Estate of 1000 hectares including 82 planted with vines, in the heart of a protected and sumptuous natural park
- The Grands Vins come from a selection of the best plots of the estate

Vinification and aging
The harvest is manual and each grape variety is vinified separately. Part of the Syrah is vinified in whole bunches. The maceration time is around 20 to 25 days. At the end of winter, 100% of the wine is transferred to new 225-litre barrels (French oak) for a period of 12 to 16 months in the magnificent Hospitalet cellar (2,000 barrels). The best barrels of each grape variety are selected and assembled to produce this vintage.
Tasting note
The dress is bright ruby. The nose, intense, is
dominated by aromas of spices and fruits
red (strawberry). The mouth presents tannins
silky and fine, highlighting the fruity freshness of
this wine.
