Boutenac: a terroir of unique character

A Bertrand family estate since 1970, the Château de Villemajou embodies the transmission of expertise and the continuation of traditions. It is here that Gérard Bertrand, accompanied by his father Georges, learned from an early age the art of producing a Grand Vin.

Located in an arid climate, the domaine de Villemajou is fortunate to possess a rich and atypical soil that allows the vines to root deeply — the ideal condition for thriving in a sometimes harsh Mediterranean climate (summer drought, storms, winds, etc.).

The vineyard, which has seen several generations of wine growers pass through, is home to a treasure: century-old Carignan vines, the emblematic grape variety of the Languedoc.

In red or white, every vintage of the Château de Villemajou delivers a unique density and velvety texture, brilliantly expressing the full power and elegance of its terroir.

With a complex nose of fruit, spices and leather, the palate is full and rounded, with velvety tannins. This generous and elegant wine has excellent ageing potential.
