The nature at La Sauvageonne is as wild as it is generous. The terroir is divided between the famous Ruffes soils and areas of sandstone and phonolitic schists (the singing stones).
Each grape variety has thus been planted in the soil best suited to its finest expression. The thermal amplitudes of summer slow the ripening of the berries and guarantee the wines a remarkable aromatic precision.
Each grape variety plays its finest harmonies, which allows us to create unprecedented blends to sublimate their expression. In the end, La Sauvageonne produces wines that are intriguing, sensual and elegant.
The Grand Vin white results from the blending of Grenache Blanc, Vermentino, Roussanne and Viognier, all from schist terroirs. The Grenache Blanc is vinified in tank and the other three varieties in barrels.
The rosé La Villa is an iconoclastic blend, born from the co-fermentation of red and white grape varieties: Grenache, Viognier, Vermentino and Mourvèdre.
The Grand Vin rouge is the marriage of heart and mind of the majority grape variety, Grenache Noir, blended with Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan, sourced from schist and Ruffes terroirs. The alliance of these so different yet complementary characters reveals an unrivalled aromatic complexity and silkiness of texture.
