Wine ages better in magnum!
The magnum format: a significant ageing potential
Did you know that a magnum-format bottle preserves wine better than a standard 75 cl bottle? The reason is simple: it is due to the oxygenation of the wine.
Indeed, although the volume is greater for a magnum, the neck is the same size. The oxygenation of the bottle, and the ageing of its wine, therefore take place more slowly. In short, the larger the bottle size, the longer the wine will keep.
A magnum of wine can thus easily be kept in anticipation of a great occasion, such as a wedding, an anniversary or a birth.
Moreover, opening a magnum bottle is a unique moment of sharing and conviviality that will remain etched in the memory.
Cigalus red & white
The domaine de Cigalus was one of the first vineyards in France to be cultivated using Biodynamics.
In harmony with nature, the vines produce a complex red wine of great elegance, with a rounded character. The white wine is mineral, balanced and refreshing.
A magnum of Cigalus has a great ageing potential (20 years) and can be set aside for a happy occasion.
Aigle Royal
From a high-altitude vineyard (500 metres) certified in organic and biodynamic farming, the "Aigle Royal" red and white wines deliver fruity aromas and delicate tannins.
In magnum format, this wine will keep for the next two decades, while awaiting the perfect occasion.
Forge, Viala & Hospitalitas
These wines come from plots of vines that have been isolated from the rest of their vineyard, as they possess exceptional characteristics, whether in terms of geology, sun exposure, hygrometry, etc.
The result of this selection yields a high-end terroir wine with a bold character.
Moreover, these three magnums are from the 2012 vintage, an exceptional year for the great wines of the Languedoc.
The sale of this exceptional wine is limited to 50 bottles only.
