A good red wine and French red wines

Red wine, the great star of wines

Good red wine

Red wine, the great favourite of the French, as well known as the traditional baguette, is part of French identity and landscape. Red wine has the particularity of being present across a large part of the territory. Each one, through its climatic location and the soil in which it is grown, brings unique flavours.

Just like white wine and rosé wine, the grape varieties are extremely varied: Syrah, mourvèdre, pinot noir, merlot, grenache. Red wine, single-varietal or multi-varietal, every palate finds the perfect combination.

Many enthusiasts and connoisseurs travel the wine routes each year to discover the regions of France. Through the viticultural landscape, the tasting of good red wines, and the associated art de vivre, an entire heritage is revealed.

What is a good red wine?

Languedoc red wines offer unique diversity and flavours: softness, finesse, power. The richness of the terroirs allows for the production of good red wines that are increasingly popular the world over.

If you are looking for a very good red wine, we can only recommend the celebrated Château l'Hospitalet, gold medal winner at the Decanter 2020 World Wine Awards.

Chosen on numerous occasions to represent the excellence of French red wine abroad, and on the tables of the greatest French connoisseurs of very good red wine. It has an intense nose of spices and red fruits, and a silky, delicate palate. Finally, for all connoisseurs of exceptional wines, Clos D'Ora impresses with its perfect balance.

This very good wine cultivated using biodynamics is crafted entirely with traditional methods (hand harvesting of grapes with the help of a horse). Maceration is carried out separately for each grape variety: Syrah, grenache and mourvèdre. On the palate the attack is captivating and the tannins melt into the palate. The extremely varied nose brings aromas of pepper, chocolate, mint and sandalwood.

Without a doubt, these cuvées are now essentials in the cellar of connoisseurs of good red wine

Several cuvées are now available, most notably the celebrated Orange gold, and the excellent Villa Soleilla. The fruit of a long blending process using seven grape varieties, orange gold surprises with its freshness, beautifully reflecting the mineral landscapes of the South of France. The tannins remain light with a subtle acidity. On the palate, it is an explosion of white flower, candied fruit and white pepper notes. Finally, if you wish to experience an extraordinary tasting journey, the very good orange wine "Villa Soleilla" is an essential.

Harvested carefully by hand, the blend of Vermentino, Viognier and Roussanne produces an ample and complex tasting experience. Notable aromas of garrigue, thyme and honey on the nose. On the palate the aromas are spiced and fruity, with apricot in particular. There is no doubt that these cuvées are now essentials in the cellar of connoisseurs of good orange wine and of the best orange wine.
