Château L'Hospitalet Grand Vin 2022
AOP La Clape
100 ml tasting experience
Near the Mediterranean coast, Château de l'Hospitalet stands some hundred metres above the sea. With its semi-arid Mediterranean climate and mild winters, the vineyard enjoys ideal conditions: altitude tempers the heat and sunshine, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and the wines to develop aromatic expression and fine tannins.
Two types of soil contribute to the complexity, finesse and elegance of this cuvée. The fossil-rich Gargasian marl and limestone soils at the foot of the cliff provide a water supply throughout the summer despite the lack of rain. The Mediterranean red soils of the Barremian, formed over compact blue-grey limestone on land reclaimed from the garrigue, produce rich, concentrated wines. It is in this exceptional setting that Château L'Hospitalet Grand Vin is born.
