Le Clos d’Ora est un lieu mystérieux, difficile d’accès, révélant la trilogie méditerranéenne de la vigne, de l’olivier et du chêne, dans une nature préservée et protégée. On y cultive la terre et la vigne à la mule, en se laissant guider par l’intuition, le ressenti et la connexion avec la nature. C’est le nouveau paradigme que Gérard Bertrand défend pour les hommes, pour la nature et pour le monde.
La symbiose s'opère entre les cépages et les terroirs sur lesquels ils sont exposés. Cela permet à la syrah (sur calcaires) de constituer la colonne vertébrale du Clos d’Ora et favorise la rencontre de la puissance enveloppante du grenache (sublimé sur sols marneux), du toucher de velours épicé du mourvèdre et de la fraîcheur dont le carignan a fait sa signature en sol argileux.

Who is Gérard Bertrand?

A committed winemaker and ambassador for the great terroirs of the South of France, Gérard Bertrand embodies excellence and innovation in the world of wine. Heir to a line of winemakers, he harvested his first grapes at Château de Villemajou and forged a unique vision, combining respect for tradition with a quest for modernity.

A former rugby player, he brings to his estates the values of performance and self-improvement he learned on the pitch. A pioneer of biodynamics, he has established himself as a leader in sustainable wine, highlighting exceptional terroirs through viticulture that respects nature and the cycles of life. Now at the helm of several iconic estates, he strives to promote the Mediterranean art of living and the uniqueness of Languedoc wines internationally.
