Château La Sauvageonne

Château la sauvageonne

The expression of Earth and Fire

Acquired by Gérard Bertrand in 2012, Château La Sauvageonne overlooks the Terrasses du Larzac at an altitude of 300 metres. This vineyard draws its strength from a rare volcanic terroir of red ruffes, schist and sandstone, forged by an intense geological past.

The thermal amplitude between sunny days and cool nights allows for slow ripening, a guarantee of aromas of great finesse. Farmed in biodynamics since 2017 (certified AB and Demeter), the estate places respect for the living at the heart of its identity.

In this wild and unspoilt landscape, each cuvée reveals a perfect alliance between power, freshness and elegance. The pure expression of the greatest terroirs of the Languedoc.

Château la Sauvageonne La Villa, 2021

AOP Languedoc

Grape varieties: Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Rolle, Viognier

La Villa embodies the most intimate dimension of the estate. This single-vineyard cuvée is born from a selection nestled around the villa that watches over the top of the vineyard.

On this terroir of volcanic schist known as the "singing stones", the vines draw a depth and unique minerality, expressing subtle floral aromas and white peach. This cuvée is an ideal match for a fillet of cod, a roast guinea fowl or pan-fried scallops.
