Grape variety saga - grenache blanc
Grenache Blanc originates from Spain, more specifically from the provinces of Barcelona and Tarragona. In France, it is found exclusively along the Mediterranean coastline, from Perpignan to Nice, as well as in Corsica. Grenache Blanc thrives in gravelly, stony and warm soils.
Its bunches are fairly large and its berries are very juicy and sweet. Wines made from Grenache Blanc are characterised mainly by aromas of fennel and dill, as well as melon and white nectarine.
It can be found notably in the cuvée Château l'Hospitalet Grand Vin Blanc, Château la Sauvageonne Grand Vin Blanc and Château de Villemajou Grand Vin Blanc, very fruity dry white wines with woody and honeyed notes. You can come and taste them at the Château shop, open every day from 9am to 7pm throughout the year and until 8pm in summer.
