Wine description
- Located in the Corbières, Domaine de Villemajou holds a special place for Gérard Bertrand.
- This family estate was purchased in 1970 by his father, Georges Bertrand.
- The exceptional soil allows for deep rooting that protects the vineyard from the excesses of the Mediterranean climate (water stress, violent storms).
- The estate has been cultivated using organic (AB) and biodynamic farming, Demeter certified, since the 2019 vintage.
Food & Wine pairings suggested by our chef
Best enjoyed at 10–12°C with spicy dishes
(chicken curry), poultry and fruity
cheeses.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested during the night or early in the morning, then sorted by hand. They are gently pressed upon arrival at the winery. The temperature at the beginning of fermentation is self-regulated around 18–20 degrees. The rosé is transferred to barrels mid-fermentation for ageing of around 6 months. Regular stirring of the lees (bâtonnage) is carried out to bring smoothness and structure to the wine.
Tasting note
The colour is deep and brilliant. The nose,
intense and subtle, is dominated by aromas of
red fruits accompanied by delicate
floral notes. On the palate, this rosé pleasantly
surprises with its balanced opulence and
aromatic freshness.
This cuvée reveals that rosés can
fully express the complexity and
originality of a terroir, and worthily honour
the gastronomy of the different regions of
France.

The alcohol content (% vol.) varies by cuvée and vintage; it is listed in the product’s technical data sheet, below the description.

This depends on the wine and its age, as specified on the technical data sheet where relevant. As a general rule, our powerful age-worthy wines benefit from being decanted 30 minutes to 1 hour before tasting; lighter wines, whites and rosés can be served directly.
