Crémant de Limoux
Crémant de Limoux is a white or rosé sparkling wine with protected designation of origin status, made in the upper Aude valley using the traditional method: its second fermentation takes place in the bottle. It blends mainly Chardonnay and Chenin, complemented by Mauzac and Pinot Noir, for a fresh, refined style with lively acidity.
At Gérard Bertrand, the appellation takes on several expressions: Code Rouge, a Chardonnay, Chenin and Mauzac blanc de blancs; Ballerine, a brut rosé made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and aged on lees for 36 months; and Héritage Year 825, a tribute to the abbey of Saint-Hilaire.
